Ten years in a refill bourbon barrel before we re-racked it into virgin oak in July 2025, where it carried on developing for the final year.
Ardmore is lightly peated by nature, and virgin oak complements that beautifully. The cask brings sweetness and spice without ever burying the distillery character underneath, giving a whisky that is smoky and creamy at the same time. Toast and sweet smoke on the nose, with burnt orange marmalade, chocolate and charcoal, then toasted almonds and apricot sitting behind. Full bodied and creamy on the palate, the smoke and fruit carrying through with cinnamon and ginger spice building as it opens up. Warm and lingering to finish.
Bottled at natural cask strength, without chill filtration or added colour. Hand bottled and hand labelled in Leith.
