A single cask of Isle of Jura, twenty years in a refill Oloroso sherry butt.

James has a soft spot for Jura having worked for them for several years, so this one was always going to be held to a higher standard. Twenty years of undisturbed maturation and it shows. Just 60 bottles, the rarest whisky in this Outturn by some distance.

NOSE

Funky orchard fruit and apple rings, with leather, salt and a soft coastal edge.

finish

Dry and lingering, leather and gentle salt carrying through to the end.

PALETTE

Restrained yet complex, takes a while to open out, needs a little air. Caramels, earth and tobacco leaf over a dry but juicy core. Rich mahogany, a herb liqueur note somewhere near yellow chartreuse, with pepper.
